Very popular with the general public, voice assistants are still not very present in the professional environment. But certain sectors of industrial activity and services begin to remain this new means of communication between humans and machines.

In industry, Occitan company SimSoft Industry has developed a Spix Intelligent Voice Assistant for « industry technicians 4.0 ». For now, the main use of voice technology in an industrial environment remains assistance to maintenance technicians, for example to maintain an energy distribution network.
The American start-up iT Speex has also developed a voice assistant to control machine tools.
But before we see lines of industrial robots controlled by voice, regulations will need to evolve, because this technology is not yet taken into account in ISO standards, and we will have to demonstrate to operators that this new interface really makes their work easier, while training them in vocabulary learning techniques so that the voice assistant understands their requests.
